Web Pioneer Tim Berners-Lee has gone on record saying he wishes he hadn’t made the two slashes after http: a necessary part of the standard web address.  I say if this is the biggest mistake he thinks he has made, then we cut him a little slack because the positive things he has done far outweigh having to type a couple extra characters.  Besides, when was the last time anyone actually typed out the full web address for a site?
